Only a few artists can claim to define the sound of a genre, but Waylon Jennings is the undisputed outlaw of outlaw country. Waylon Jennings defined a very own tone, soaked with a characteristic, extensive phase shift effect, and toured through the most famous phaser effect pedals the 70s and 80s had to offer. The Waylon Jennings Phaser pedal takes you on this journey by emulating the pedals with which Waylon Jennings went his own way.
The Waylon Jennings Phaser is based on the original four-stage phaser circuit from Fender, developed in the 1970s, and offers three different phasing variants by switching between two, four, or six phase stages. In combination with the Range and Feedback controls, these three phaser voices cover the entire range of phaser sounds used by Jennings on stage and in the studio. Turn on the Sweet Switch to go directly to the "Sweet Spot" of clean signal mixed with phase-shifted tones – perfect to give your favorite cowboy chords the right spice. Whether you want to imitate Waylon's signature sound or find a new, very own tone, the Waylon Jennings Phaser can set exactly the right phase for you.
COMPLETELY ANALOG CIRCUIT
The circuit is based on the phaser circuit developed by Fender in 1975 and works with JFET transistors. This allows the lush phaser sounds from the 70s and 80s to be reproduced authentically.
SELECTABLE PHASE STAGES
The 3-way phase switch activates either two, four, or six phasing stages, authentically reproducing the circuit topology and phasing tonal colors of the most famous phaser effect devices of all time.
RANGE CONTROL
The range control defines the frequency range for the phasing effect. When you turn it higher, only the high frequencies are distorted by the effect, while the sound remains clean in the lower frequency range. When turned down, the opposite happens: the low frequencies are phased while the highs remain unchanged and clear.
VARIABLE FEEDBACK
The intensity of the phasing effect is also influenced by the feedback in the circuit. With a well-dosed use of the feedback control, you create different vintage tonal colors, or you turn it up fully and create deeper modulation effects.
SWEET SWITCH
With this switch, you bypass the phase switch. You directly activate the "phasing sweet spot" and then mix the phasing effect into the clean tone with the feedback control.
ROBUST TOUR-READY HARDWARE
Just right for rehearsal room and stage: stable aluminum housing, metal hardware, top-mounted inputs and outputs, and true bypass switch. And because the eye also plays along, we decorated the phaser with Waylon's signature and a "Flying W" logo.
